Originally conceived as a four-issue series, the comic's publication was affected by Marvel Comics' acquisition of the Alien vs. Predator license and later issues were cancelled, although the story was ultimately completed as a trade paperback. It was the final Alien vs. Predator comic book release from Dark Horse; during its publication, the licence moved to Marvel.
